AIT Alumni Spotlight
We like to keep you pu to date on AIT alumni with occasional notes about notable graduates and their current doings. The current spotlight shines on Jeanine Salla — PhD Virtual Biochemical AI Studies 2090; who with great distinction occupies the Cybertronics Chair in Computational Psychology at Bangalore World University's New York campus.

On a sad note...

When we contacted Dr. Salla to let her know she would be our next alum in the spotlight, she had just received word of the death of her very close friend, Dr. Evan Chan (AIT Brooks & Zaragosa, PhD 2090).

OBITUARY

Evan Chan

DURHAM, NC, USA - Evan Jasper Chan, age 76, was pronounced dead on arrival at the Clinton Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro, NC, on March 9, 2142, after drowning in a tragic boating accident off North Carolina’s Inner Banks. Mr. Chan was born February 20, 2066, in Shanghai, China, to Lau and Ling Chan. At the age of 16, Evan left home to pursue higher education at the Aragon Institute of Technology-Brooks, OR. After graduating in 2086, he went on to study at AIT-Zaragosa, where he received his Ph.D. in electrochemistry in 2090. Evan was a popular professor at AIT-Ulan Bator, where he taught in the electrochemistry department.

At the time of his death, Mr. Chan was working as a consultant with DonuTech Consulting in Durham, NC, USA, specializing in thermal analysis. Evan was a loving husband, a devoted father, and a doting grandfather. While he showed a fondness for his work, sailing, haiku, and most of all family were his real passions.

Mr. Chan is survived by his wife Nancy Chan of Durham, his son Derrick Chan of Singapore, and his grandson Lucas Chan of Shanghai. He was predeceased by his parents.
